WTA Charleston: Volvo Car Open tips, Wednesday betting & TV details

Sofia Kenin is a slight favourite to defeat Monica Puig in the Volvo Car Open and that's no surprise considering what the duo have achieved in recent months.

Moscow-born American Kenin is a confirmed battler who could enjoy a big title triumph before long. She lost to Yafan Wang in the Acapulco final early last month and looks in the mood to press on in Charleston.

Puig came to fame when winning singles gold in the 2016 Olympics, but the Puerto Rican has found it difficult trying to live up to that triumph in recent seasons.

She's capable of collecting further key titles but remains inconsistent on court, something that cannot be said about Kenin, who looks almost as comfortable on clay as she is on hard courts.

Briton Heather Watson pulled out of her Monterrey Open first-round clash with defending champion Garbine Muguruza and the second seed was due to play Elena Gabriela Ruse early on Wednesday.
