What next for Cameron Norrie? Wimbledon odds & odds to win a Grand Slam in 2022
British ace claims Indian Wells glory and targets place at ATP Tour Finals
It has already been a year to remember for British tennis thanks to Emma Raducanu's shock US Open triumph and Cameron Norrie got in on the act on Sunday by defeating Nikoloz Basilashvili in the final of the Indian Wells Masters.
Despite ante-post outright odds of 120-1, South Africa-born Norrie beat Basilashvili 3-6 6-4 6-1 to become the first British player since Andy Murray in 2016 to win a Masters 1000 title.
He has enjoyed a stellar season, reaching six ATP Tour finals, winning two of them, and rising from 74th to 16th in the world rankings, becoming Britain's number one in the process.
Cameron Norrie 2022 Wimbledon odds
Norrie's Indian Wells triumph saw his 2022 Wimbledon odds cut from a three-figure price into a best-priced 50-1 with Betfair, Hills and Paddy Power.
The 26-year-old, who was also a winner in Los Cabos earlier in the season, reached the third round of Wimbledon this year, where he was beaten in four sets by Swiss legend Roger Federer - his best effort in four appearances at the All England Club.
Norrie has never gone beyond the third round of a Grand Slam - a feat he also achieved at the Australian Open and French Open this season. He is 100-1 to win in Melbourne at the start of next year.
For those wanting a season-long interest in the Brit, Coral go 12-1 that Norrie wins any of the four Grand Slams in 2022.
What next for Norrie?
Victory at Indian Wells provided Norrie with 1,000 points in the Race to Turin and his main goal for the remainder of the season is likely to be to qualify for the eight-man ATP Tour Finals.
He is tenth in the standings at present but with eighth-placed Rafael Nadal calling an end to his 2021 campaign, only Poland's Hubert Hurkacz stands between Norrie and a place in the Turin field.
The new British number one has announced his intention to play in the Vienna Open, the Paris Masters and the Stockholm Open in the hope that he can qualify for the 2021 season finale.
