Preview

There have already been some significant price alterations in the lead-up to the second round-robin matches in the Andre Agassi Group of the ATP Finals in London.

In the clash of first-match losers, Daniil Medvedev, who was found wanting in a 7-6 6-4 loss to Stefanos Tsitsipas, takes on Rafael Nadal, who went down 6-2 6-4 to defending champion Alexander Zverev.

But while Medvedev has been supported from odds-against to odds-on to get a win on board against Nadal, who looks to be struggling with fitness in London, there’s always a chance that the Spaniard could bounce back like Roger Federer did in match two against Matteo Berrettini on day three.

For that reason, it may be worth concentrating on Zverev against Tsitsipas.

Zverev has been well punted to defeat the Greek ace and the gamble may be well founded.

Tsitsipas, last year’s Next Gen ATP Finals hero, showed again in his O2 Arena opener that he is a fine performer indoors.

But Zverev is also comfortable on these hard courts and he may have enough ammunition on the terrain to go on the offensive against Tsitsipas.

The German was an 11-10 chance in early shows but that price was quickly snapped up.

Andy Murray believes he is closer to beating Federer, Nadal and Novak Djokovic than was the case a couple of months ago, and the Scot is feeling excited about next season.

Murray, 32, lifted the European Open title in Antwerp last month and that has given him the belief that he could make life difficult for the ATP Tour’s big three.

He said: “I’m not going to say that I can reach the top ten or make the semi-finals of a major because I don’t need such targets. But I’m happy being free of pain and healthy and I still love my job.”
