ATP Belgrade Open

Novak Djokovic is a red-hot 3-10 shot to post a home win in the ATP Belgrade Open which starts on Sunday, but given that it's the final week of warm-up action before the French Open favourite backers should take plenty of caution before siding with the world number one.

Unsurprisingly, plenty of Djokovic's compatriots are competing on clay in their home capital and the likes of Filip Krajinovic, Laslo Djere, Dusan Lajovic and Miomir Kecmanovic warrant respect.

Lajovic has not been at his best on the slow courts this season, however, and it also hasn't been happening for Kecmanovic. But Krajinovic has been handed a decent draw and should make the quarter-finals at least, while Djere may have too much for in-form Nikoloz Basilashvili should they clash in round two.

The other option is to go with tried-and-trusted clay-lovers, such as Pablo Andujar, Federico Delbonis and Pablo Cuevas. All three travel to Belgrade this week and all three are in decent nick.

Andujar and Cuevas played in Geneva last week and both went deep enough to suggest that they're on top of their games, but this week it could pay to go with Delbonis, who occasionally tends to go under the oddsmakers' radar more than his fellow South Americans.

However, that hasn't happened this week. Delbonis is second-favourite in some lists but there could be a good reason for that because the eighth seed looks capable of coming through the bottom half of the draw.

His toughest opponent could prove to be special exemption entry Arthur Rinderknech, a fast-rising Frenchman, but Delbonis has looked to have plenty in the tank in recent weeks and won't be unduly worried about conserving energy with Roland Garros around the corner.

ATP Emilia-Romagna Open

Lorenzo Sonego, heroic semi-finalist in the Rome Masters recently, is the market leader for the Emilia-Romagna Open, the second of this week's specially-staged tournaments that compensate for the French Open being pushed back a week this year.

Sonego is a solid performer who is in good nick, although whether punters should have faith in him at short odds is another question.

Sonego is top seed while Benoit Paire, who has lost focus on court of late, is seeded second - and that could see outright punters looking further afield for the winner. Albert Ramos-Vinolas and Jan-Lennard Struff are the next highest-ranked players but AR-V won recently so is unlikely to be busting a gut with a Grand Slam just one week away.

Lorenzo Musetti, Italy's highest-rated teenager, travels back to his homeland after coming up short against Stefanos Tsitsipas in Lyon last week. He could have a big say in the destiny of the title and, in an open heat, the 19-year-old Tuscan offers most appeal.
