Ivan Dodig has already justified his wild-card entry into his homeland tournament in Umag, but the seasoned Croat may not yet be done with in the Istrian peninsula coastal town.

Dodig has always been a solid performer on any terrain when he finds his form and after ousting Marius Copil 6-4 7-6 in round one, he is the outsider with bookmakers to take out Marco Cecchinato and progress to the quarter-finals.

Cecchinato posted a fine result when defeating fifth seed Gilles Simon 6-1 3-6 6-1 in his curtain-raiser, but that was his first main-draw win of the season on the ATP's principal tour.

Cecchinato is ranked 105th in the world but Dodig, who is languishing down at 412th, was world number 29 in 2013.

Dodig may not yet be done with aged 32, and if the oddsmakers are pricing up the clay clash purely on rank there could be some generous prices flying around.

Punters can consider taking the bigger prices about Dodig upsetting Cecchinato, but an interest on him capturing at least a set may be more prudent.

In the Bucharest Open, Ana Bogdan could continue the good work against Turkey's Cagla Buyukakcay in the wake of her 6-4 6-2 victory over fellow Romanian Sorana Cirstea.
