Ana Konjuh faces Dominika Cibulkova in a Wimbledon rematch and the Croatian, who is a narrow underdog, looks the one to side with in the first-round of the WTA Western & Southern Open.

Konjuh got the better of the diminutive Slovakian on the All England Club grass before finding Venus Williams too strong in the last 16 and she made a promising start to the North American hard-court season with a quarter-final run in Stanford.

A first-round exit followed at the Rogers Cup as the 19-year-old, suffering with illness, retired from her match against Kirsten Flipkens.

Konjuh has had a week to recover and will target a decent run in Cincinnati.

Cibulkova has not scaled the heights of last year and was outplayed by Lucie Safarova in Canada last week. Expect the similarly powerful Konjuh to trouble the world number 11.

Alexander Zverev is no bigger than 10-1 to win the US Open after the brilliant young German defeated Roger Federer on Sunday to win his second Masters 1000 title in Montreal. But the vanquished Swiss remains a solid 11-8 favourite to win a 20th Grand Slam title at Flushing Meadows.
