Wildcard Andy Murray is among the big names on show in Metz this week for the Moselle Open and the ATP 250 event looks a competitive betting heat.

At the head of the market is Pole Hubert Hurkacz but the top seed has done little of late to suggest he will be the standout performer.

Young Australian Alex de Minaur is the next strongest player in the top half, having risen to world number 15 earlier this year, but he was quickly dimissed in the first round of the US Open and there is a better option in the draw's weaker half.

Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili defeated De Minaur 6-1 6-1 in last month's Canadian Open and, although he was seen off by Hurkacz in the next round, he is tempting at double figures in France.

Unseeded Basilashvili made it to the third round of the US Open recently, falling to defeat against home talent Reilly Opelka, and also made it to the last four of the Halle Open in June.

His best-ever Grand Slam performance also came on hard court when he reached the fourth round at Flushing Meadows in 2018.

His toughest challengers in the bottom half will likely be unreliable Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta, who was knocked out by unseeded Maxime Cressy in his first US Open contest, or Gael Monfils, who is past his best at 35.

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is another to keep an eye on but has lost his opening match in each of the last four tournaments he has played in and Basilashvili is a better option at the same price of 14-1.
