Kyle Edmund is 4-9 to reach the final of the China Open with a victory over Nikoloz Basilashvili in Beijing on Saturday.

Basilashvili has already tasted victory this season in the German Open on clay in Hamburg and this is a huge opportunity for the Yorkshireman to reach an important final in the week before the penultimate regular Masters Series event of the season is staged in Shanghai.

Edmund is 23-20 to win in straight sets and that can be considered, but anyone thinking of backing the British number one may find an interest on the handicaps more punter-friendly.

Edmund is 4-5 to successfully concede his Georgian opponent a start of 2.5 games and that looks fair enough. Basilashvili is in good nick, but Edmund looks to be getting stronger with each match.

Naomi Osaka could post a quick win over Anastasija Sevastova in Saturday’s opening singles in Beijing.

Recommendation
K Edmund -2.5 games
