BT Sport 1, 9am Friday

Naomi Osaka has not enjoyed the speed of the Singapore courts on her WTA Finals debut and the Japanese star must beat Kiki Bertens and hope that Sloane Stephens defeats Angelique Kerber if she is to extend her stay in the year-ending event.

But the slow surface has not suited the power-packed US Open champion and Bertens, who is proving she belongs in elite company this week, could put an end to Osaka's tournament.

The Dutchwoman is an accomplished clay performer who enjoys the slower conditions and should be able to trouble the 21-year-old judging by her first two group matches.

The winner of the Red Group will face Karolina Pliskova in the semi-finals while the runner-up takes on White Group champion Elina Svitolina for a place in Sunday's final.

Recommendation
K Bertens
