Australian Nick Kyrgios is a quirky customer but his ability is undeniable and he could make light work of David Goffin in the opening round in Cincinnati.

Kyrgios has won both meetings with the Belgian, including a straight-sets triumph in Miami this year, and he performed to a high level when falling to Alexander Zverev in the last 16 in Montreal last week.

Goffin, on the other hand, is struggling. He was dumped out of Montreal 7-5 6-3 by Hyeon Chung and this is a harder test.

Veteran David Ferrer has improved recently and he is worth supporting to get the better of home hope Steve Johnson.

The 35-year-old Spaniard won the Swedish Open in July and beat Kyle Edmund and Jack Sock in Canada last week.

Ferrer won the opening set against resurgent Roger Federer in the last 16 in Montreal before falling short but his game is in excellent nick and Johnson is in for a tough afternoon.
