Ekaterina Alexandrova set to take all the beating in Limoges

2016 champion can again conquer moderate field

Ekaterina Alexandrova showed her liking for indoor hard courts when landing the WTA Limoges two years ago and a return to the French venue could see the Russian regain the winning touch.

Alexandrova, who is still only 23, won six matches in Linz last month before eventually being halted by class Italian Camila Giorgi in the final. But this event looks weaker and, providing she can continue to produce that level of performance, she could take some stopping.

The Russian was sent off outsider in four of her six successes on her Austrian adventure and that indicates how well she must be playing.

The eighth seed shouldn't have anything to concern her in the earlier rounds and is fancied to overcome home hope Pauline Parmentier in the last eight - she defeated the French number three seed in straight sets on her way to glory in 2016.

Alexandrova is in excellent form, has shown her liking for the venue and has landed in a winnable quarter, so must make plenty of each-way appeal at 14-1.
