Tomljanovic is 8-13 to success­fully concede her young Slovenian opponent a handicap start of 2.5 games. But rather than get involved in riskier business against the promising Zidansek, it may be wiser to back the favourite simply to progress to the Hua Hin final.

Aryna Sabalenka can be considered for her St Petersburg Trophy last-four clash with Kiki Bertens, but older players tend to prosper more indoors.
