Gael Monfils could be worth siding with in his World Tournament semi-final clash with Daniil Medvedev in Rotterdam.

Medvedev has been in great nick but the Russian ace has also been busy, having travelled straight to Holland after lifting the Sofia trophy last Sunday.

He will get many more chances to triumph at the Ahoy Arena, but time is running out for Monfils to go all the way there.

Monfils, beaten 6-4 6-2 by Medvedev in the Sofia semis, looks to be taking his day job seriously and he’s good enough to defeat anyone on his day.

Simona Halep fought back from 4-1 down in the final set of her Qatar Open semi-final clash with Elina Svitolina to deny the Ukrainian 6-3 3-6 6-4 and reach the Doha final (3pm, BT Sport ESPN).
