Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev remain on course to continue their burgeoning rivalry in the final of this week's ATP World Tour Finals, and the world’s top two can set up a mouthwatering showpiece with victory in today's semi-finals.

Medvedev kickstarts the action in Turin against rising Norwegian star Casper Ruud, who sealed his spot in the last four with wins over Andrey Rublev and Cameron Norrie.

Ruud was no match for Green Group victor Djokovic, losing 7-6 6-2, and it could be a similar story against Medvedev.

The Russian topped the Red Group thanks to three-set victories over Hubert Hurkacz, Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev but may find things easier in his semi-final showdown.

Ruud is a fine talent but he is at his best on clay - five of his six career titles have come on that surface - and this is uncharted territory for him.

Medvedev has won both of the pair's previous encounters in straight sets and it is 1-2 that the Russian completes the job quickly again.

Things may be a little tougher for Djokovic, however, with the Serb locking horns with world number three Zverev.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion made light work of Ruud, Rublev and Norrie, but the Olympic champion will provide a much sterner test.

Djokovic’s class should eventually tell but the German, who toppled Matteo Berrettini and Hurkacz in the group stage as well taking Medvedev to three sets, can offer stiff resistance.

Both players have won a set in five of their last six encounters and Djokovic may need three to seal a final berth.
