Juan Ignacio Londero won his maiden main-tour title at the first attempt in Cordoba on Sunday and while it's asking a lot for history to repeat itself, it could be worth backing another wild-card to prosper in Buenos Aires this week.

Londero, who was 125-1 to lift the Cordoba trophy, dropped only one set on the way to taking the title with a 3-6 7-5 6-1 final victory over fellow Argentinian Guido Pella.

The 25-year-old from Cordoba province tries again in the Argentina Open in his homeland capital, but it may pay punters to keep an eye on younger wild-card Francisco Cerundolo.

The 20-year-old was defeated by Hugo Dellien in the Cordoba qualifiers, but prior to that he had won back-to-back Futures titles on Majorcan clay in January.

Cerundolo opens in Buenos Aires against Pella and while the Cordoba runner-up is a fine player, he's also an underachiever.

Cerundolo gets a handicap start of 5.5 games and is worth a bet.

In Doha, Jelena Ostapenko is 5-6 from 10-11 to defeat Mihaela Buzarnescu, who was part of the Romania Fed Cup team that won in Czech Republic on Sunday.

F Cerundolo +5.5 games
