It's a slight surprise to see Alexei Popyrin outsider to beat Britain's Cameron Norrie in their ATP Atlanta Open quarter-final rumble and it could be worth sticking with the Australian teenager.

Popyrin has done little wrong in victories over Denis Kudla and fourth seed Pierre-Hugues Herbert and there could be more to come from the 19-year-old Sydney native, who recently upended Pablo Carreno Busta at Wimbledon.

Norrie has done well to justify his main-tour slot – he is handy on hard and clay courts – but the Joburg-born Brit's wins over Jordan Thompson and Soon-Woo Kwon in Georgia don't read as well as those of his opponent.

Popyrin, recommended each-way at 80-1 before the first of the US Open Series events started, was at the outset expected to come through his first three singles outings at Atlantic Station and this is the last of those. It could get harder for Popyrin should he progress to the semis, but Norrie still looks a beatable rival.

In Gstaad, Roberto Carballes Baena may have too much for Albert Ramos-Vinolas, who has only just started to step it up.

Recommendation
A Popyrin
