There is no news regarding a possible date for a return from injury for Andy Murray, but Britain's foot soldiers are doing the nation proud in the Scot’s absence.

Cameron Norrie, who is guaranteed a main-draw berth in the French Open which starts on Sunday, was 125-1 before the Lyon Open started. But the Yorkshireman saw off big-serving John Isner 7-6 6-4 in the quarter-finals to sweep into the last four of the French tournament.

Norrie's next opponent will be experienced Frenchman Gilles Simon, who is enjoying an Indian summer this season and won in Pune in January, but the progressive Brit looks the bet on the clay.

Fabio Fognini and Steve Johnson, colleague Dan Childs's two ante-post selections in Geneva, are both safely through to the last four in the Swiss event.

Ashleigh Barty, top seed in the Strasbourg International, set up a semi-final against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova after the Aussie ousted Qiang Wang 7-5 6-4.

The lead-up to Roland Garros has been good for Barty, who also won the doubles in Rome last week.

World number 84 Nicolas Kicker has been found guilty of match-fixing offences.

The 25-year-old Argentinian, winner of ten singles titles on the ITF Tour, contrived the outcome of two Challenger tournament matches in Padua and Barranquilla in 2015.

Kicker's sanction will be handed to him at a later date.
