Sunday preview
The Bundesliga returned this weekend after its winter break and Bayer Leverkusen were one side who drastically turned around their fortunes just before the pause, winning their last three league games.
That included an impressive 5-0 win over Union Berlin and Leverkusen are fancied to pick up where they left off in the Rhine derby against Borussia Monchengladbach.
In contrast with that good run before the break, Gladbach lost four of their final six games and will be without stalwart keeper Yann Sommer, who has sealed a move to Bayern Munich.
Leverkusen will also be boosted by the return of star youngster Florian Wirtz from injury. The 19-year-old scored seven goals and registered ten assists last season but is yet to take part in this campaign.
The visitors have had the upper hand in this derby recently, winning the last five head-to-heads between these teams, and they are worth backing to continue that good run.
Ligue 1 takes a back seat in France as the last 32 of the Coupe de France is the focus of this weekend.
Lens are second in the top flight after losing just one match in all competitions this season and they should be able to continue that form against Brest.
The home team have won just one of their last seven in the league and Lens got the better of them 3-2 earlier in the campaign.
The visitors beat Paris Saint Germain 3-1 on New Year's Day and have conceded just 13 times in 20 games in all competitions. That defensive solidity could be key to their chances and Lens can win this cup tie.
