The first round of this year’s Champion of Champions has already seen a 4-0 whitewash and given the difference in ability between some of the seeds and their opponents it may not be the last.

Neil Robertson is a two-time winner of this tournament and there is not much juice in the 1-6 about him beating Chinese youngster Fan Zhengyi, who qualified after winning the 2021-22 European Masters.

The more competitive match of the day sees Ryan Day take on Kyren Wilson after the pair won the British Open and 2022-23 European Masters respectively.

Wilson has a strong track record at this event, reaching at least the semi-final in three of his five appearances and the Warrior was beaten 10-9 by Ronnie O’Sullivan in the 2018-19 final.

Wilson has also won two of his last three meetings with Day by at least three frames and is fancied to win by at least two frames in this best-of-seven encounter.
