Judd Trump does not have a world title to his name but he looks ready to be crowned the 188Bet Champion of Champions.

Trump's ability has never been in question and in patches he has produced performances few players on tour would be able to match.

Consistency has been the Ace's problem but his 2017 record suggests everything is starting to fall into place for him.

Trump made the final of the Welsh and Gibraltar Opens and has landed Players Championship and European Masters crowns this year.

While his loss to Rory McLeod in the first round of the Betfred World Championship was hugely disappointing, it looks more like the exception than the norm.

The Juddernaut has a nice-looking draw in Coventry with Luca Brecel first and then the winner of Mark Selby or Liang Wenbo.

Selby would be a tough group final opponent but the Jester has been slugging it out in China in the final of the International Championship and it would be no surprise if the Leicester man is a little below his best in Coventry.

Ronnie O'Sullivan, John Higgins, Barry Hawkins and Ding Junhui are all housed in the opposite half of the draw and at 11-2 Trump looks cracking each-way value.
