Group One
starts midday Tuesday

Neil Robertson tops the bill on day one of the Championship League as the second half of the season starts at Coventry's Ricoh Arena.

The Australian, world champion in 2010, has never won the Championship League, which has been going for 11 years, and has often seemed content to try to play the system and collect as many funds as possible.

Jack Lisowski, who was wonderfully consistent in the first half of the campaign without winning a title of note, is the second favourite and that's no surprise considering he may be up to defeating the Thunder from Down Under right now.

Ricky Walden, Mark King, European Masters champion Jimmy Robertson, Rob Milkins and Anthony Hamilton complete the line-up.

Hamilton was nowhere near his best in the second half of 2018 but the Championship League often proves a cat-and-mouse-type event so it may be unwise to write him off given the format.

However, with Lisowski surely having bigger fish to fry in 2019, he may wish to get the league out of the way quickly and he could be worth an interest to qualify for the winners' group quickly.

Recommendation
J Lisowski to win Group One
