Ronnie O'Sullivan will line up against Judd Trump in the semi-finals of the Hong Kong Masters on Saturday after pipping John Higgins 5-4 in a first-round thriller on Friday.

O'Sullivan, who was advised by Dave Clark at 5-1 before the invitation tournament started, is 19-20 to defeat the West Countryman. The Rocket could see support from punters to reach Sunday's final, but his highest break in his opening win was just 65.

Trump posted breaks of 100 and 92 on the way to dismissing Shaun Murphy 5-3 to progress to the last four.

Marco Fu plays Neil Robertson in the early semi-final and the betting on the matchwinner is close.

It's no surprise to see the Melbourne native, who was world champion in 2010, edging market leadership to reach the final. But the fact that Fu is playing in front of his home fans could aid his cause.

There are no ranking points available, so have an interest on Fu to send the Hong Kong crowd into raptures.
