Joe Perry could win battle of seasoned campaigners
Fen Tiger overdue a return to the limelight
Eurosport 1, midday & 6pm Saturday
The theory is that the shorter matches afford more chances to the younger players, but two of the game's most seasoned performers have won through to the semi-finals of the European Masters.
Anthony Hamilton will doubtless have dashed the hopes of those who continue to back Jack Lisowski to notch his first main-tour title when edging out the young gun 4-3 in the last eight.
Hamilton, a 47-year-old who captured his first notable title at last year's German Masters, showed he can still be a force despite being quoted at 200-1 to go all the way this week.
In the last four – the semis are played over the best of 11 frames – Hamilton will meet Joe Perry, who fought back to pip Tian Pengfei 4-3.
It has been a long time since Fen Tiger Perry, 44, last staked a title claim but he has won his last four against Hamilton and could improve on that record.

J Perry -1.5 frames
