Oliver Lines looks to be playing well in the Indian Open but while the northerner is likely to defeat Soheil Vahedi, he is too short to back for the win considering his opponent is also performing well in Kochi.

Lines dismissed Fergal O'Brien 4-1 in his opener with breaks of 93, 89, 58 and 51 and that could stand Peter's son in good stead for a decent run in the tournament.

However, Iranian Vahedi posted compilations of 65, 61, 61 and 53 in his 4-3 win over Robin Hull, so Lines junior may have to dig deep for victory.

It's a difficult choice between punting Lines to successfully concede a handicap start of 1.5 frames or backing the clash to last for more than 5.5 frames – both options are 8-11 shots.

Lines may not give Vahedi as many chances as Hull did, so it could pay to side with the jolly.

Defending champion John Higgins made light work of Duane Jones in a 4-0 victory over the Welshman and next plays Vahedi's compatriot Hossein Vafaei.

Recommendation
O Lines -1.5 frames
