In-form Li Hang expected to have the measure of Willo’s pal

Crucible quarter-finalist Walker will do well to deny Chinese ace

Day two
from 9.30am, Wednesday

Lee Walker was a promising performer who arguably failed to fulfil his potential and he has been more famous of late for his support for fellow Welshman Mark Williams.

Walker can still play a bit but his powers have understandably waned since he reached the Crucible quarter-finals in 1997 and even though he reached the Gibraltar semis in March, his chance of upsetting Li Hang in a morning clash could be a little overrated by bookmakers.

Li, 28, is not often mentioned in or near the top echelon of Chinese snooker players, but he was in terrific form on the way to reaching the last 16 of the Northern Ireland Open recently.

He compiled breaks of 112, 145, 137, 139 and 115 in Belfast and even though Li seldom hits such heights, he merits considerable respect right now.

Thepchaiya Un-Nooh has won the last five frames he has contested against Jimmy White, but the Whirlwind is playing reasonably well this season and could be worth a shout to keep the scoreline respectable in an evening clash against the Thai.

White is evens with a start of 2.5 frames on the handicap and that is difficult to quibble with.

Recommendations
Li Hang
1pt 8-13 general
J White +2.5 frames
1pt Evs general
