Starts 10am Wednesday

Yan Bingtao will have seen fellow Chinese youngster Zhou Yuelong shine in Belgium last week and it will be a surprise if he comes up short against Eden Sharav on day one of the Shanghai Masters qualifiers.

Yan may not possess the natural talent that European Masters semi-finalist Zhou displays but his all-round game, which is mature beyond his 17 years, has few weaknesses and there is little between the pair.

Many in the game reckon Yan, who became the youngest world amateur champion in snooker history in 2014, could be better than Zhou. And with an important date in Shanghai the reward for success at Wigan's Robin Park Arena this week it would be disappointing if the selection came up short.

Sharav is no mug on the baize and will not be bullied by Yan, but the favourite's class ought to tell.

As there are no handicaps available, double up Yan with his compatriot Xiao Guodong, who ought to see off Aditya Mehta. The Indian has been in reasonable nick of late, though, so backers should take care.

The double with Betfred pays just shy of 39-50.

Recommendation
Yan Bingtao 1-3, Xiao Guodong 1-3
1pt double Betfred
