Higginson scoring heavily enough to blunt Vafaei threat

The second of two rounds of the English Open starts on Thursday evening and Andrew Higginson could be worth a bet to maintain his good scoring against Hossein Vafaei.

Iranian ace Vafaei may be a shade overrated after edging out Stuart Bingham 4-3 in round three in Barnsley earlier in the day and he will need to find more to end the run of Higginson.

The Wigan cueman posted breaks of 50, 74, 78 and 56 in a 4-1 pasting of Hammad Miah and there could be more to come from a player who has been threatening a title tilt for the last couple of seasons.
