Neil Robertson has started the campaign pretty positively but the same can be said of Graeme Dott, whom the Australian meets for a place in the last 16 of the Betway UK Championship in York.

Robertson won their highest-profile meeting when victorious in the 2010 Betfred World Championship final, but if anything Dott played better at the Crucible that year.

The Scot, who was crowned world champion four years before Robertson, also made the 2004 Sheffield title-decider and if he can reproduce the fine form he has shown on many occasions in South Yorkshire, Dott is capable of taking the game to Robertson.

The Larkhall ace was not messing around in the last 64 at the Barbican Centre when taking apart Matthew Stevens 6-2.

Dott is a 4-5 chance to win four or more frames against the Thunder from Down Under and that's difficult to quibble with.

Judd Trump and Mark Allen, who contested a cracking UK Championship final in 2011, ought to do the business against their respective opponents Mark King and Hossein Vafaei.

The problem for anyone considering backing that pair on the handicaps, however, is that their prices to successfully concede a start of 1.5 frames look too short to be of much use.

Trump is 2-5, while 8-15 about Allen is also on the short side – the early 4-7 did not last long.

Recommendation
G Dott +2.5 frames
1pt 4-5 Betfred, Sky Bet
