Betfred World Championship qualifiers
10am Monday

There are plenty of top cuemen in action as the second round of Betfred World Championship qualifiers continue on Monday but one of the less-known names could make his mark.

Michael White was was advised by Adrian Humphries to win this group and he is as short as 1-4 to get past John Astley.

He should progress, but Astley has the talent to make it close and appeals getting a three-and-a-half frame start in the best-of-19 contest.

The Gateshead Grinder isn't the best-known player on tour but he was good enough to beat Zhang Anda, Dominic Dale and Gerard Greene on his way to the last 16 of the Welsh Open.

White is the higher-ranked player and will have the advantage when it comes to break-building, but the Welshman's tactical game can let him down, and if he gives Astley chances he could stay within the handicap.

Stephen Maguire is 1-10 to see off Hammad Miah, who is a 9-1 shot to cause an upset, while in-form Ryan Day is 1-14 to get the better of tough competitor Mitchell Mann.
