Donaldson may not be a pushover

Ding Junhui was advised by colleague Dave Clark in yesterday’s Racing Post to win a second Shanghai Masters title in the space of four years, but the Chinese number one could have to work hard to defeat Scott Donaldson in his tournament opener.

Ding is definitely in there with a fine shout of adding to his 6 Reds triumph in Bangkok and it’s obviously a risk taking on one of the finest talents to have ever played snooker in his homeland.

But each match should be taken on its merits and Donaldson is already a pretty decent player who could grow to become a seriously good one.
