China Open: Tuesday betting preview, tip & TV details
Pang Junxu could be underrated for homeland opener
TV: Eurosport 1, 7.30am & 12.30pm Tuesday
Pang Junxu was fortunate to be handed a walkover into the last 64 of the China Open, but the wildcard may be a shade underrated for his first-round clash with Alan McManus.
Pang's main-tour record consists of one match played in 2015 which ended in defeat. However, the Chinese novice, who benefited from Mark Allen's withdrawal before the event started, looks as if he may be better than that judging by the way he has performed in Under-21 competition.
McManus, whose biggest title came in the 1994 Masters, blows hot and cold these days and the Scot makes no appeal at 1-14.
Pang was trimmed from 8-13 to 4-7 to win at least two of a potential 11 frames and the outsider may still be worth supporting at the shorter price.
Xu Si could trouble Stephen Maguire but the Glaswegian tends to play well in China.
Recommendation
Pang Junxu +4.5 frames
1pt 4-7 Betfred, Sky Bet
