Stuart Carrington, a heavy scorer capable of performing much better than his lowly ranking suggests, looks worth an interest in his first outing in the Shanghai Masters.

The 26-year-old Grimsby-based potter dug deep to see off Luca Brecel in qualifying for this tournament and the world number 61 next needs to account for Chinese wildcard Niu Zhuang before he can take his place in the last 32.
