Neil Robertson's reward for outplaying Mark Selby in their Betway UK Championship quarter-final clash on Friday is a last-four clash with Zhou Yuelong on Saturday.

It's still best of 11 frames - even at the semi-final level - and that could aid Zhou's outside chance of upsetting Robertson.

But the Australian merits considerable respect for toughening up and improving his game against his fellow top players in the last 12 months and that could help him add to his solitary 2010 World Championship crown in the near future.

For now, though, it's the UK title at stake. Robertson, champion of this event in 2013 and 2015, is looking to nail a third crown. And while the Thunder from Down Under can still be vulnerable against talented young opponents - of which Zhou is definitely one - the fact he is now showing more steel than ever on the baize should aid his match-win percentages.

Robertson defeated Selby 6-2 in the last eight with breaks of 130 and 122, while Zhou's 6-4 triumph over Jack Lisowski, in a match the Chinese 22-year-old did well to win, failed to send a register on the high-compilation charts.

Robertson has won 15 of the 16 frames he and Zhou have contested - he won their European Open final clash 9-0 in January. But while Zhou could make more of a nuisance of himself this time, Robbo is playing well enough to triumph with a little in hand.
