Preview

Alexander Ursenbacher dumped Ronnie O'Sullivan out of the 2019 Welsh Open in the only meeting between the two players and they meet again in the second round of Betway UK Championship with The Rocket fancied to exact revenge in style.

Ursenbacher saw off Nigel Bond 6-3 on Thursday, but has struggled for form so far this season and has not gone beyond the last-32 stage in the four tournaments he has entered.

A relaxed O'Sullivan, who is working for Eurosport between matches over the next seven days, has been in decent form having reached the final of the Northern Ireland Open recently and beat Leo Fernandez 6-0 on Wednesday.

The experienced and clinical current world champion sprints towards the winning line when it's in sight and he can comfortably cover the handicap in the best-of-11 frames contest.

Jack Lisowski leapfrogged Gary Wilson into 16th place on the provisional world rankings list and is now in the box seat for a place at the Masters with the cut-off for ranking points after this event.

The talented 29-year-old is fully aware of the situation and mentioned it in an interview after his 6-2 win over Farakh Ajaib on Thursday, a match in which he played extremely well and compiled breaks of 132, 100, 84, 75 and 74.

Cueing well and buoyed by the possibility of a return to Alexandra Palace, Lisowski faces Tian Pengfei this evening and can maintain his unbeaten record against the 33-year-old Chinese player.

Lisowski has won his two previous meetings with Pengfei 5-3 and 5-0 and another comfortable victory is expected with a play on the handicap appealing most.
