Bayer Leverkusen v Freiburg

Despite the eye-catching summer signings of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Adam Hlozek, Bayer Leverkusen have made a disappointing start to the new campaign.

They were knocked out of the German Cup by third division Elversberg at the end of July and have lost three of their opening four Bundesliga outings.

Pressure is beginning to build on their Swiss manager Gerardo Seoane and life doesn't get any easier this weekend as they entertain a confident Freiburg outfit.

A 3-1 defeat to Dortmund aside, the visitors have recorded three wins to nil and are third in the table.

Leverkusen scored 80 goals on their way to a third-place finish last season, but four goals in as many league matches this term is not indicative of the attacking talents they possess.

Freiburg also know the way to goal so Saturday's clash could be an end-to-end affair.

Two of the visitors’ four games this term have featured at least four goals and backing over 3.5 against Leverkusen looks prudent as the hosts look to kick-start their season.

Milan v Inter

The Milan derby has rarely taken on more significance than it did last season as Milan and Inter slugged it out all the way to the finish line for the Scudetto.

The red half of Milan came out on top in that particular battle, but there may be little between them in the first Derby della Madonnina of the 2022-23 season.

Serie A champions Milan have drawn two of their opening four matches, against Atalanta and Sampdoria, while Inter were beaten 3-1 by Lazio eight days ago.

The competitive nature of this match is reflected in the fact that bookmakers are struggling to split the pair and the draw, the biggest price of the three 90-minute outcomes, looks a definite runner.

Two of the last four Milan derbies have ended all-square and both teams may be content with a point at such an early stage of the season with easier assignments ahead.

Sevilla v Barcelona

Sevilla looked set to contend for the La Liga title for much of last season before a dramatic collapse in the second half of the campaign.

That poor run has spilled over into the new season with Los Rojiblancos taking just a single point from three winnable games against Osasuna, Valladolid and Almeria.

Things are unlikely to get any easier over the next few days as they host Barcelona in La Liga on Saturday before a visit from Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Barca have bounced back from a goalless opening draw against Rayo Vallecano with comprehensive wins over Real Sociedad (4-1) and Real Valladolid (4-0).

New signing Robert Lewandowski has already scored four times and they should have too much going forward for out-of-form Sevilla.

That said, the hosts have scored in all of their three matches this season and Xavi’s men haven’t looked impenetrable at the back, so both teams are fancied to find the net in a Barcelona win.
