Serbian marksman can shine against Salernitana
This week it appears to be Arsenal's turn to be linked with Fiorentina's Dusan Vlahovic - one of Europe's hottest young strikers who is attracting the attention of another club every other week.
The 21-year-old Serbian international has evolved into one of the stars of Serie A since joining the Florence club in 2018 and his penalty against Bologna last time out made it 13 goals in the league this season.
That put him level with the experienced Ciro Immobile at the top of the division's leading scorers list and he could be a great bet to open the scoring against struggling Salernitana,.
Rock-bottom of the table with only 11 goals scored in 16 matches, Salernitana are unlikely to offer much of an attacking threat of their own and Vlahovic can pounce on a defence who have conceded in each of their last nine assignments.
Mainz can push pacesetters Bayern
It may not be the fixture that jumps out to casual Bundesliga observers but Bayern Munich's home clash with Mainz could be an engrossing affair.
Bayern have had a great week, dispatching Borussia Dortmund 3-2 in Der Klassiker last Saturday before maintaining their 100 per cent record in the Champions League with victory over Barcelona in midweek.
But they are still not without their faults defensively and have conceded in seven of their last nine contests.
And top-six hopefuls Mainz, who put three past Wolfsburg last week and have seven-goal Jonathan Burkardt in their ranks, should fancy their chances of getting on the scoresheet. Back both teams to score at the Allianz Arena.
Sevilla can respond to Champions League exit
Many would have been surprised to see Sevilla knocked out of the Champions League after a 1-0 loss to Salzburg in midweek but the Andalusians will be putting that to the back of their minds before Saturday's La Liga encounter with Athletic Bilbao.
Sevilla have evolved into Real Madrid's closest title competitors, winning nine of their 15 league fixtures this term.
Even in defeat to Real at the end of November they were competitive, taking the lead after 12 minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu and looking like earning a point until Vinicius Junior's 87th-minute strike.
That was their last away trip in the league but this week's opponents Bilbao should represent less of a challenge with the Basque side having failed to win any of their last seven fixtures. Back Sevilla to come out on top.
