Preview

Sassuolo v Fiorentina

Sassuolo might be a shade of value at home to a Fiorentina team with one eye on Wednesday's grudge Coppa Italia semi-final against Juventus.

There is no love lost between those two, even less so right now following the sale of 17-goal Dusan Vlahovic from La Viola to Juve, and Sassuolo can take advantage of that possible distraction.

Fiorentina are missing key central defender Nikola Milenkovic and central midfielder Lucas Torreira, and Sassuolo will be absolutely buzzing after last weekend's 2-0 win at champions Inter.

Sassuolo will also be strengthened by the return of their centre-back Gianmarco Ferrari after a one-game ban.

Getafe v Alaves

Getafe can put some serious daylight between themselves and La Liga's drop zone by taking care of a blunt Alaves unit in the suburbs of Madrid.

Getafe are almost home bankers these days, having won six of their last seven at home – they drew the other – and that run includes a triumph over leaders Real Madrid.

Under Quique Sanchez Flores, appointed in October, they have been transformed and it's hard to believe they will actually be involved in a relegation scrap, although getting points on the board quickly will alleviate any concerns.

They should be more than good enough to take care of shot-shy Alaves, Spain's lowest scorers with 19, six of which have been penalties. They look utterly reliant on 12-goal Joselu – no one else in the squad has bagged more than two – and they have won only once in the league since the first week of November.

Monchengladbach v Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg have beaten Borussia Monchengladbach more often than they have any other Bundesliga side and they can extend their hold over the Foals this weekend.

Gladbach welcome the Wolves to Borussia Park still licking their wounds from last week's 6-0 dismantling by Dortmund, in which old boy Marco Reus bagged a brace.

Now another former player, Max Kruse, will have his sights set on a creaking Gladbach back line which has already conceded 19 goals at home this term, the same as they let in during the entire 2020-21 season.

Adi Hutter's men have won only one of their last six, one of their last five at home and have shipped 15 goals in front of their own fans in their last five matches, with at least two goals in each of those matches.
