Match preview

Worcester and Harlequins both snapped losing runs last weekend but this looks set to be a hard-fought contest despite the gulf in the standings between the two.

Second-bottom Worcester earned their first win in six matches, and just their fourth of the season, by seeing off Bristol at home to kindle hopes of an upturn in their form under uncompromising coach Steve Diamond.

Harlequins moved up to third with a 29-24 win over Wasps having lost their last three on the bounce in the absence of their international players.

There's a lengthy absentee list for Quins again, headed by England's Marcus Smith, Joe Marler and Alex Dombrandt, while Will Edwards starts at fly-half with Tommy Allan on the bench.

And there's a sizeable gap in the Worcester backline too as Duhan van der Merwe, who scored the opening try against Bristol, is back with Scotland.

The big winger's absence tempers confidence in Worcester's ability to claim back-to-back wins for the first time since the end of the 2019-20 season, but the Warriors are worth backing with a five-point start.

Since the turn of the year Quins have lost three of their six games and won the others by margins of two, three and five points.
