Match preview

It's been a difficult year for New Zealand and the pressure is still on following last week's unconvincing win over Japan coupled with an injury to captain Sam Cane.

The All Blacks have had a seven-day turnaround from their 38-31 victory in Tokyo to this showdown in Cardiff and are up against a much stronger Wales side than the one they defeated 54-16 just a year ago at the Principality Stadium.

But New Zealand have also shown the strength to battle back from adversity when they are in the spotlight - such as in their 35-23 victory over South Africa in Johannesburg this year or 53-3 win over Argentina - and the handicap looks to have been tilted too far in Wales's favour.

New Zealand are 11-point favourites, but that is a line they have covered in their last 11 meetings with Wales.

Wales have a strong side out but it's not the most settled squad, with Gareth Anscombe starting in place of the injured Dan Biggar at fly-half and 22-year-old winger Rio Dyer facing a daunting debut.

There is still plenty of experience in the Welsh side but the key against the All Blacks is producing an 80-minute performance and the visitors have the players and the depth to turn the screw and pull away in the second half.
