After narrow losses to Australia and New Zealand this autumn, Scotland are favourites to round off with a win over Argentina.

Argentina claimed the spoils in a three-Test home series only last summer, and although they faced a young Scottish team in all those matches, they are 15-8 to bounce back from last week's defeat to Wales.

The Pumas beat England at Twickenham just two weeks ago and have captain Julian Montoya back to lead a strong forward unit who will be hugely competitive at the breakdown.

Against that they face a Scottish attack packed with pace and marshalled again by fly-half Finn Russell, and there is a fear that a long season could be catching up with the Argentina players.

Against the All Blacks last week Scotland shipped two early tries before taking a nine-point lead in the second half. They will feel they let a huge chance slip through their fingers and it would be no surprise to see a resolute showing from the hosts as a result.

New Zealand scored 17 unanswered points in the final quarter of that match, but Scotland were on top and a constant threat for large parts of the first hour and if they can avoid getting bogged down in a close-quarters battle they should prove too strong.
