Sale have struggled a little to live up to the reputation they forged last season as a hard-battling outfit adept at squeezing teams for either a gritty victory or narrow defeat.

Narrow margins were always their style, and with a few internationals back they can rediscover their familiar patterns at Sarries.

England's Bevan Rodd, Tom Curry and Raffi Quirke all return along with Springbok Lood de Jager, and while Saracens also have some big names back, Alex Goode continues at fly-half in the absence of the injured Owen Farrell.

Sarries have run in plenty of points in recent wins while they were 34-8 up against London Irish last time out before being pegged back to 34-34. But Sale have a solid defence and three of their four defeats this term have been by ten points or fewer so a double-figure handicap start is worth taking.
