The Six Nations is still more than a month away but all eyes will be on Twickenham and Harlequins' annual big game on the big stage.

Quins have already flopped at Twickenham this season, losing to promoted London Irish on the opening day and providing the Exiles with what is still their only win of the campaign.

They also haven't been seen at their best in this fixture, with four wins in the nine years they have been making the short trip across the road to England Rugby's HQ between Christmas and the new year.

Their opponents are Northampton, who have been in a world of trouble of their own and have just brought in experienced Australian Alan Gaffney as a coaching consultant following the sacking of Jim Mallinder.

Mallinder's removal had little immediate effect on the Saints' form as they were beaten 35-14 at home by leaders Exeter, and if, as suggested, the rot goes that bit deeper at Northampton it may take time to pick up results.

Quins haven't been in the greatest of form with just one win in their last six - and that was thanks to a late try against Saracens. But they have plenty of attacking ambition, marshalled by half-back Danny Care and Marcus Smith, and the confidence to edge this one.

Glasgow are out for revenge after failing to see off 14-man Edinburgh in the first instalment of the 1872 Cup just before Christmas.

That 18-17 reverse was the Warriors' first league defeat of the season and they are sure to be fired up at Scotstoun, where they have won all five Pro14 home games by a double-figure margin.
