Harlequins are making the early running in pool one of the Premiership Cup after an opening victory at Bath and they are seven-point favourites to strengthen their position with a home victory over Newcastle.

Assessing teams in this tournament is tricky as most line-ups contain a blend of first-teamers and back-up players. Last week Newcastle winger Zach Kibirige was the star of the show with a hat-trick in a 22-22 draw with Exeter, although he misses this match with a thigh injury.

Fly-half Demetri Catrakilis was the main man for Quins, scoring 14 points at the Rec, and he again pulls the strings for a reasonably strong home line-up. Niall Saunders makes his first start for the club at scrum-half but there is proven firepower in a backline that includes Francis Saili and Tim Visser.

Neither club have been that convincing in the Premiership, but Quins should have more fluency to their performance after the boost of last week's win. They can edge a victory in what could be a high-scoring game.

Munster are yet to win away from home in the Pro14 and are narrow favourites to overcome a Cheetahs side (Premier Sports 2, 2.45pm) who recorded their first victory of the campaign at home to Cardiff last time out, while Leinster are also in South Africa and give up a handicap in the mid-teens against Kings (Premier Sports 1, 12.45pm).

Recommendation
Harlequins to win by one to 12 points
