London Irish v Saracens preview

Winning has become an unshakable habit for Saracens this season and the Premiership leader’s 100 per cent record isn’t expected to be put under any great threat when they visit London Irish on Friday.

The Exiles are level on points with bottom side Bristol in the standings and have lost six of their last seven fixtures in all competitions, including a bruising reintroduction to the Champions Cup over the last fortnight.

Irish were beaten by Montpellier and Stormers at the same time as Saracens were racking up wins over Edinburgh and Lyon to make it 11 wins out of 11 in league and Europe this term.

Ending Sarries’ winning run will take a monumental effort and the job is made all the harder by the visitor's strength in depth. England lock Nick Isiekwe will make his first start of the season following injury, bolstering an already a monster pack that contains Ben Earl and Billy Vunipola.

Irish could struggle to cope with Saracens' brute force but it would be unwise to dismiss them out of hand as Declan Kidney’s men have proved they can hang on in the majority of games recently - five of their last six losses have been by fewer than six points.

The Exiles stunned Saracens the last time they visited the Gtech Community Stadium in February and although they are unlikely to back up that win, wide-margin home losses have been such rare occurrences for Irish that a punt on a narrow Sarries success is preferred.
