The Hurricanes lost just three matches all season - twice to the table-topping Crusaders plus a surprise reverse at home to the Jaguares - and they are just 2-9 to overcome the Bulls in Wellington.

The Canes' consistency and attacking prowess should see them through to the semi-finals but the Bulls have been obdurate opponents and should make this a close, hard-fought clash.

The South African outfit were in New Zealand in rounds 16 and 17 and earned draws against the Highlanders and Blues, while before that they suffered a 22-10 defeat to the Brumbies in Canberra.

Since the start of April they have suffered four defeats - that 12-point loss in Canberra, a heavy home reverse to the Crusaders, and then defeats by one points to the Stormers and two points to the Jaguares.

The Hurricanes are back to full strength having rested a few players once a home quarter-final was secure, but the Bulls are also strengthened by the return of Springboks Jesse Kriel at centre and Jason Jenkins in the second row.

Recommendation
Hurricanes to win by one to 12 points
