The Blues won at Brookvale Oval last Saturday but that was more to do with Waratahs' wastefulness than their own quality and bookmakers look right to expect the Hurricanes to extend the Aucklanders' bizarre Eden Park misery this season. The Canes giving up eight is certainly worth a wager.

The Kiwi capital outfit, champions in 2016, runners-up in 2015 and semi-finalists last year, are motoring again with eight wins on the spin after their opening defeat at the Bulls. Their other two road games have been bonus-point wins over Los Jaguares and the Rebels.

The Chiefs and Los Jaguares ground out their wins at Eden Park this season and the Sharks and Highlanders cut loose. The Hurricanes are a much better team than these at doing both. Last week at the Westcap in swirling conditions, they deserved more than a nine-point success over their last-four conquerors last year the Lions with a performance of precision and power.

The Canes have won the teams' last five meetings including a 29-5 success at Eden Park in 2015.

Recommendation
Hurricanes -8
