The Sportsground in Galway has not been a welcoming venue for visiting European teams, as Wasps and Toulouse found in last season's Champions Cup.

Connacht haven't lost a home tie since the visit of Exeter in 2015 and they are narrow favourites to see off Gloucester in their quarter-final.

The visitors are hanging on in the top half of the Premiership but haven't looked clinical as they had to fight back from 17-0 down to beat bottom side London Irish last week, and missed kicks cost them in a one-point defeat to Newcastle before that.

This looks set to be hard-fought but home advantage should give Connacht the edge.

Home comforts could also be key in the final last-eight contest between in-form outfits Edinburgh and Cardiff. The Scottish side are five-point favourites.

Recommendation
Connacht to win by one to 12 points
