Gloucester's playoff push has gone off the rails following five defeats in six games, and given their last two fixtures are against Harlequins and Saracens, they have to make the most of a home clash with bottom side Bath.

The Cherry and Whites also suffered a midweek loss in the Premiership Cup but fielded a young side for that clash, almost certainly with one eye on this game.

Gloucester were convincing 40-20 winners when these teams met at the Rec in December, and although Bath have shown some better form of late, most of their good work has been done at home.

Bath won at Newcastle in February but their other five away trips since mid-October have ended with double-figure losing margins.

A creative half-back pairing of Ben Spencer and Danny Cipriani could be worth watching this weekend but Gloucester are sure to look to their forward power to keep the visitors in check.

It will take a measured approach from Gloucester but they look value to pull away for a convincing win by the end.
