Match preview

Of all the crucial Test showdowns taking place on Saturday, the final act between Argentina and Scotland looks the hardest to call.

Scotland set off without frontline stars Finn Russell and Stuart Hogg, both teams have suffered injury setbacks through the week, and there has been little consistency from either teams' performances in the first two Tests.

However, after barely threatening in the first half of the first Test, Scotland have shown far more bite and the improvement in their displays and, added to selection issues in the Pumas camp, the tourists rate the value at odds-against to seal the series.

Argentina have changed seven of their forwards from last week's comprehensive 29-6 defeat in Salta. Some of the changes are positive - captain Pablo Matera returns having been sidelined last week - while veteran Agustin Creevy steps up from the bench at hooker.

However, his inclusion has been forced by injury to Julian Montoya, while the uncapped Lautaro Bazan Velez starts at scrum-half with Santiago Carreras again at fly-half after Nicolas Sanchez was forced off in the first Test.

Argentina won that opening encounter 26-18, a welcome result in their first home Test for almost three years, but took advantage of a below-par showing from the Scots and do not look to have pushed on.

Scotland make nine changes for this match, but other than the uncapped Ollie Smith coming in for the injured Rory Hutchinson at full-back there is still a strong look to the side.

Ali Price returns at scrum-half, Sione Tuipultou steps up from the bench in midfield, and there's a combative back row of Rory Darge, new skipper Hamish Watson and Matt Fagerson.

Last week's performance was a huge step up from the Scots and will have lifted confidence in the camp that they can finish the job.
