When the draw was made for the Coral Challenge Cup semi-finals two months ago, very few quibbled with bookmakers making Warrington six-point favourites over Hull.

However, the contrasting fortunes of the two teams since suggest that the Black & Whites are good value to reach Wembley for the third time in four seasons.

Lee Radford’s side have won five of their seven matches since routing Catalans in the quarters while the Wolves have been beaten four times since their narrow last-eight success at Hull KR.

There are now just two points between the teams in the league table and Hull look an attractive proposition in receipt of more than a converted try on the handicap.

The underdogs are 13-8 to repeat their epic 2016 Wembley win over Warrington when Danny Houghton’s last-gasp try-saving tackle on Ben Currie secured a nail-biting 12-10 success.

Hull also won the most recent Super League clash between the sides - a 19-12 victory at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in May which was revenge of sorts for the 63-12 hiding the Wolves handed out at the KCOM Stadium two months previously.

The Airlie Birds are also boosted by the news that talisman Albert Kelly is poised to return from a two-match injury absence and Marc Sneyd should shake off a back injury to play.

Warrington are without the suspended Sitaleki Akauola and injured Ryan Atkins but Ben Murdoch-Masila should be fit.

The last semi-final between the sides finished 16-12 to Hull and with another close contest on the cards, backing the visitors with the start looks the way to go.

The match is preceded by the women’s Challenge Cup Final which is a repeat of last year’s clash between Leeds and Castleford.

Holders Leeds are given a 14-point start against the Tigers who are 1-7 favourites in the outright betting.
